Night Owl Manufacturing provides custom injection molding services for companies developing engineered plastic components. Our programs support products from prototype validation through full production using structured tooling strategy, supplier qualification, and manufacturing oversight.
Rather than transactional part sourcing, Night Owl manages injection molding programs designed for long-term production reliability.
Engineering-Driven
Injection Molding Services
Night Owl Manufacturing supports engineering teams with custom plastic injection molding services designed to produce reliable molded parts across multiple stages of development. Our services combine engineering review, tooling strategy, and supplier alignment to ensure molded components are produced consistently and economically throughout a product’s lifecycle.
Injection Molding
Service Capabilities
Night Owl Manufacturing provides a range of custom injection molding services designed to support products from early development through scaled manufacturing. Each capability focuses on a specific stage of the product lifecycle.
Prototype Injection Molding
Rapid tooling and short-run molding used to validate part design, assembly fit and mechanical performance.
Bridge Manufacturing
Mid-volume production runs that allow products to launch while long-term production tooling is completed or transferred.
Production Injection Molding
High-volume molding programs built around process stability, dimensional consistency and reliable supply.
Low Volume Injection Molding
Flexible injection molding programs designed for modest production quantities and pilot manufacturing.
Insert Molding
Integration of metal or secondary components directly into molded plastic parts for structural reinforcement and assembly efficiency.
Overmolding
Multi-material molding processes designed to enhance durability, sealing, and ergonomic performance.
From CAD File to Production Parts
Night Owl Manufacturing structures custom injection molding programs around engineering review, tooling strategy, and production oversight. How the Process Works
CAD Upload & Engineering Review
Part geometry is reviewed to evaluate manufacturability, wall thickness, draft angles and material selection.
Tooling Strategy Development
Tool design, mold materials, and manufacturing location are determined based on program scale and production requirements.
Supplier Qualification
Manufacturing partners are selected based on capability, production capacity and quality requirements.
Tool Build & First Article Validation
Initial molded parts are produced and inspected before production begins.
Production Oversight
NightOwl manages supplier coordination, quality reporting and delivery scheduling.
Materials for Injection Molding
What are common materials for injection molding?
- ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
- Polycarbonate (PC)
- Nylon (PA6 / PA66 – Unfilled)
- Glass-Filled Nylon (30% GF PA6 / PA66)
- Polypropylene (PP)
- Acetal (POM – Polyoxymethylene)
- PC/ABS (Polycarbonate / ABS Blend)
- PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate)
- TPE / TPU (Thermoplastic Elastomers)
- HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
- HIPS (High-Impact Polystyrene)
- PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide)
- PET / PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate / Glycol-Modified PET)
How do I choose the right material?
Material selection depends on mechanical requirements, thermal environment, chemical exposure, regulatory requirements, and cost targets. If you have a material already specified, we will confirm it is appropriate for your geometry and process. If you are still in selection, we will narrow the field based on your application requirements. Our Material Library covers the materials we run regularly — if you need something outside that list, ask.
Can you run filled or reinforced materials?
Yes. Glass-filled Nylon, glass-filled PBT, and mineral-filled grades are within our standard capability. Filled materials are more abrasive and require harder tool steel — this is factored into tooling recommendations for those programs.
Do you provide material certifications?
Material certifications (manufacturer certificates of conformance, lot traceability) are available upon request. They are standard on programs where documentation is a stated requirement. If your program requires material certs, tell us at the quote stage so it is built into the program from the start.
Can I supply my own material?
Customer-supplied material is accepted on a case-by-case basis. We require material data sheets and lot documentation before running customer-supplied resin. We are not responsible for part quality issues attributable to customer-supplied material that does not conform to spec.
